Mary Ellen Threlfall, 79, passed away on January 18, 2023. She was born on December 17, 1943 in Worland, WY to Louis and Emma Weber, among a family of four brothers and two sisters: Laurie Weber, Dick Weber, Dan Weber, Jim Weber, Eileen Walton, and Chrissy Weber.
Mary Ellen graduated high school in 1962, met and married her lifelong husband Gordon in 1965, before settling in New England. She attended Rhode Island College, graduating with a BA in anthropology in 1981, and completing her Masters program in education in 1982. She went on to teach at Woodlawn Catholic Regional School in Pawtucket, RI.
Mary Ellen was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, and sibling. Mary Ellen will be deeply missed by her husband Gordon; her daughter Leigh, son-in-law James Gaspar Jr. and their two children James III and Chloe; her son Jeff and daughter-in-law Rae; her brother Jim; her sister Chrissy; her brother-in-law Gene Walton; and her many, many friends.
Mary Ellen was known for her kind heart, her generous spirit, her skill at photography, her love of animals, and her beautiful gardens. She enjoyed traveling the country to visit with family and friends. Active in her faith, she served on the board of directors at Candleberry Chapel in Attleboro, MA, where she helped organize many events and was known as The Cookie Lady for her wonderful sweet treats. She was always there to lend a listening ear, offer words of encouragement, and provide a shoulder to cry on. Mary Ellen's memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Memorial services will be held Monday, January 23, 2023 from 5 to 7 pm in the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave, Lincoln, RI 02865. (401) 725-4253
